(GTCOM) once again performed outstandingly with its strong competitiveness in machine translation and won the championship in each of the three language directions, notching up the second-highest number of wins among all the participating teams in the world, being next only to Facebook.

Hosted by the Association for Computational Linguistics (ACL), the Conference on Machine Translation (WMT) has been acknowledged by the global academic community as one of the largest premier international machine-translation competitions, and has been held annually for 16 years since 2006. Its mission is to evaluate the latest developments in machine translation, disseminate general test data sets and public training data, and refine the methods for the evaluation of machine translation.

The machine-translation evaluation tasks for a total of ten language pairs, namely English-Chinese, English-Czech, English-German, English-Hausa, English-Icelandic, English-Japanese, English-Russian, French-German, Hindi-Bengali and Zulu-Xhosa, in 20 language directions were assigned as part of the competition. GTCOM participated in six language directions and won the championships in the three language directions of Bengali→Hindi, Hindi→Bengali and Hausa→Zulu. Moreover, it placed fourth in Zulu→Xhosa and Hausa→English among the world's participating teams and ranked seventh globally in English→Hausa.

GTCOM has, in recent years, maintained a significant record of performance in machine translation. In the 2020 Conference on Machine Translation, the company won the championships in five language directions (Khmer-English, English-Khmer, Pashto-English, English-Pashto, and Tamil-English) out of the six in which it took part in. The number of championships ranked first in the world. In the 2019 Conference on Machine Translation, GTCOM competed against more than 60 excellent teams from across the globe. It took the championships in three language directions, tying the number of championships won by Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA) and the industry's global leader, Facebook.
